Become an MD-Staff Certified Expert – The Ultimate Credential for Power Users
Ready to take your MD-Staff expertise to the highest level? The MD-Staff Certified Expert Exam is tailored for advanced users who want to prove their mastery of system configuration, process automation, and best practices.
With the MD-Staff Certified Expert Exam, you’ll:
- Meet eligibility requirements including two years of MD-Staff experience, MD-Staff Certified Specialist certification, a letter of recommendation, and a required application essay (tell us your experience, why you would like to become a MD-Staff Certified Expert, etc.). All information will be required to submit the online application.
- Undergo a competitive selection process with a limited number of candidates chosen annually.
- Demonstrate your understanding of complex workflows and system optimizations.
- Enjoy complimentary access for clients; $650 fee for verified consultants (payment due only if selected).
MD-Staff Certified Expert Exam timeline:
- Applications Open: Thank you to all that have applied for the 2025 testing year. Applications are only accepted each June.
- Candidate Selection: End of July – Twenty (20) applicants are chosen through an application review.
- Testing Period: September – Exams are comprehensive, application-based, and must be completed within one week.
- Grading & Notifications: November – Results are reviewed, and pass/fail notifications are sent.
- Retake Testing Period: December – One-week retake with updated questions.
- Certification Announcement: January – Successful candidates are officially certified.

For the MD-Staff Certified Specialist Exam, you can join our quarterly study groups to help you prepare.
The exams are designed to cover all modules to help you become a super user. Being a super user means having a depth of knowledge and experience across all MD-Staff solutions. Earning the MD-Staff Certified Specialist designation validates a strong understanding of MD-Staff. The MD-Staff Certified Expert certification is designed for super users who have extensive knowledge of system administration, automation, and workflow optimization.
The MD-Staff Certified Specialist Exam is timed and cannot be paused. While you are able to get up, stretch, grab a bite, etc., the clock does not stop. So, make sure you are prepared you start.
The MD-Staff Certified Expert Exam is a week-long, comprehensive exam.
First, don’t feel bad if you did not reach the passing level. Each exam registration comes with two attempts! Give yourself some time to study up and retake the exams at another time.
For the MD-Staff Certified Specialist Exam, you can register and take the exam at a later date. For the MD-Staff Certified Expert Exam, once you are selected as a participant, you will be assigned a week to take the exam.
The MD-Staff Certified Specialist Exam consists of 180 questions, covering both general and advanced user experience across all MD-Staff modules, except MD-Stat. It is designed to assess foundational knowledge and proficiency in using the system effectively.
The MD-Staff Certified Expert Exam features scenario-based and applied problem-solving questions, evaluating deep expertise in system configuration, automation, and reporting within MD-Staff.
