License Verifications
In order to help reduce the amount of paperwork,
MD-Staff integrates state license verification with
websites from nearly every state. MD-Staff is able to visit a state license website, verify the provider’s license, and capture information such as license number, expiration date, and a copy of the license verification. This information is presented to the users for review and can be used to update a provider's record. A log is also created in the database to document the verification.
DEA Verifications
DEA certificates can be verified directly from MD-Staff. MD-Staff integrates with the NTIS database via an XML Web Service to provide instant primary source
verifications for DEA certificates. DEA certificates can be verified individually from within a provider’s record or batch verified using numerous different filters. The verification process not only stores a report generated by NTIS stating the status of the DEA certification, but it also allows the users to update the database to reflect the new status, DEA schedules and expiration date. This helps to minimize data entry and to reduce errors.
OIG/EPLS Verifications
The OIG and EPLS maintain exclusion lists of providers that must be checked during the initial application
process and the reapplication process. This is necessary because any services performed by these providers may not be reimbursed by government agencies. Although it is common practice to only check these exclusion lists
every two years, the OIG and EPLS lists are actually
updated monthly. MD-Staff completely automates the process of checking these exclusion lists thus allowing them to be checked more often. This helps to reduce
overall risk while greatly reducing workloads.
NPI Verifications
National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers are unique numbers used to identify providers. MD-Staff integrates with the NPPES NPI Registry to verify NPI numbers
entered into MD-Staff. MD-Staff also integrates with the NPI Registry to fetch and store NPI numbers
automatically. This completely eliminates the need for manual data entry which helps to improve accuracy along with saving time. NPI numbers can be verified and/or fetched individually or in a batch. This means MD-Staff can fetch the NPI numbers for all of the providers in the database in a matter of seconds.
Board Certification Verifications
ASM is a subscriber to the ABMS© Direct Connect
Select web service. This allows users to query the ABMS© database directly from our system. As an official display agent, the reports generated are valid for credentialing purposes and are considered primary equivalent source verifications on behalf of ABMS©. ABMS© queries can be processed in a batch or individually and the results are returned instantly. The results for each query are
automatically stored in each provider’s record, thus
making the board certification verification process
completely automated and paperless.
NPDB Integration
The National Practitioner Databank has been fully
integrated with MD-Staff. Users can submit queries, check for responses, save, download, and view reports all from within MD-Staff. MD-Staff uses a proprietary
online ITP web service, allowing NPDB querying to be fully integrated with the credentialing system. The
complete integration of NPDB with MD-Staff allows you to automatically download and save NPDB query reports to a provider’s record without visiting the IQRS website or uploading files.
